Electrodeposits can provide effective protection for uranium and uranium alloy. The compactness and bonding force of electrodeposits are the key factors affecting the corrosion resistance of electrodeposits to substrate. In water and chloride solutions, the dense nickel coating has a certain physical protective effect on uranium and uranium alloy. Once there are pores, the corrosion rate will increase due to local galvanic corrosion. Zinc plating provides sacrificial anode electrochemical protection for uranium and uranium alloys. The chromate passivated Ni+Zn coating provides the best physical protection and sacrificial anode protection for uranium and uranium alloy. Although zn-Ni alloy coating has good corrosion resistance and can provide physical barrier and sacrifice anode protection for uranium and uranium alloy, its protection ability is not as good as that of Ni+Zn double coating due to its densification and passivation problems. With the successful research of Zn-Ni alloy electroplating and passivation process, Zn-Ni alloy will be fully used in the corrosion prevention of uranium and uranium alloys due to its superior corrosion resistance.
